The Indispensable 3-2-1 Backup Rule
To survive modern ransomware variants that intentionally seek out and delete network backups, every organization must enforce the proven 3-2-1 framework:
- Maintain at least 3 total copies of your business data.
- Store backups on 2 different physical media types (e.g. local NVMe/NAS array and cloud storage).
- Keep at least 1 copy completely offsite in a geographically separated data center with Object Lock (Immutability) enabled so backups cannot be deleted or overwritten for a set retention window.
