Enterprise Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 Deployment: Multi-Gigabit Switching and High-Density AP Planning

Unlocking the Pristine 6GHz Spectrum

Traditional 2.4GHz and 5GHz wireless channels are congested in multi-tenant commercial office buildings. Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 7 utilize the newly unlocked 6GHz spectrum, providing up to 1,200 MHz of clean, non-overlapping channels free of legacy device interference.

Infrastructure Prerequisites

• Multi-Gigabit PoE Switches: Access points equipped with 2.5GbE or 10GbE uplinks require 802.3at (PoE+) or 802.3bt (PoE++) multi-gigabit switches to avoid backhaul saturation.
• Channel Width Strategy: In dense enterprise offices, deploy 40MHz or 80MHz channel widths rather than maximum 160MHz/320MHz widths to prevent channel contention.
